School Holiday Camp - Pee Wee Golf

Week 1 – 30th September – 3rd October – 2:30-3:30pm
Week 2 – 8-10th October – 2:30-3:30pm

A four day, 1 hour class for 3-6 year olds of all abilities, perfect as an introduction to golf before the following term (8 week) program.

Our Pee Wee holiday camps will be based on our designated Junior teaching area which can be found on the right hand side of the driving range, with the entrance to this area at the side of the car park. This is a safe, enclosed area with additional seating for you to watch your child from.

Parent participation and assistance is encouraged if you would like, or you can enjoy our patio bar area and leave your child in the capable hands of our junior teaching professionals.

School Holiday Camp - Beginner Golf

Week 1 – 30th September-3rd October – 1:30-2:30pm & 4-5pm
Week 2 – 8-10th October – 1:30-2:30pm & 4-5pm

Aimed at 7-15 year olds, this holiday camp is a perfect introduction to golf under the guidance of our PGA Professionals Ollie Gebert and Arthur Kotsakis, giving students an insight into the basics of the game, meeting other junior golfers and having fun. The duration of each lesson is 1 hour over 4 consecutive days. This gives the students enough time to learn and practice new skills, while keeping each new skill or activity new and exciting.

While the participants are learning, parents can relax on our patio at the cafe bar or use the facilities we have to practice on their own golf game. This camp is an ideal introduction to our 8 week school term programs.

School Holiday Camp - Intermediate Golf

Week 1 – 30th September-3rd October – 10:30-1:30pm & 1-4pm
Week 2 – 8-10th October – 10:30-1:30pm & 1-4pm

This school holiday based program will cover all aspects of the game including golf etiquette, full swing, short game and playing on the course. This class will be aimed at 7-15 year olds with previous golf experience or who play regularly. It’s the perfect way to fine tune some aspects of your child’s game under the guidance of our accredited PGA Professionals.

The duration of each lesson is 3 hours over 4 consecutive days. This gives the students enough time to learn and practice new skills, while keeping each new skill or activity new and exciting.

Pee Wee Golf Program

Pee Wee Golf is aimed at the youngest golfers, aged 3 to 5 years. Through fun and enjoyable golf games, they’ll learn basic skills, etiquette and safety when playing and get to interact with other children of a similar age group and ability.

Our Pee Wee classes are the most popular junior group we offer, with many of the students continuing their development with us until they are old enough to then take the next step in their golfing career and join a golf club.

Junior Beginner Program

The starting point for 6-15 year olds looking to learn to play golf and have lots of fun!

The program runs over 8 consecutive weeks with the main focus on fun, while developing the fundamentals and foundations of a consistent golf swing.

The program covers all aspects of golf including the full swing, driving, chipping, putting and short game. The group will be based on the driving range for their lessons but will also use the putting and short game facilities we have to offer, the versatility our programs offer, maximises the pupils experience and progression here at the academy.

Junior Intermediate Program

This program is for students of ages 7-15 years old who have previous golf experience. Depending on the amount of students and where available, this intermediate class will be split into 6-10 years and 11-15 years to make the classes a better learning environment for all students involved.

Our intermediate program is specifically designed to create confident young golfers and encourage them to see golf as a life-long sport. Each child will learn in a relaxed and fun environment with a strong emphasis on interactive learning through target based games. Using the US Kids golf booklets, coaches track progress each week and with the opportunity for students to continue learning at home.

The program is split into 5 sections: Putting, Around the Green, Full Swing, Knowledge and Scoring. Students must complete all sections of the program and be signed off by the teaching professional in order to move to the next level. Badges and certificates are received on completion of each section.

Junior Cadet Program

The Level 2 or “Cadet” program is the next step on our Junior Development Pathway. All participants of this program must have completed the Junior Intermediate Program within the Sydney Golf Academy.

In Cadets, students are further tested using the same systems as the intermediate class with an increased difficulty. The fundamentals of each section are more detailed, giving each student a better understanding of the golf swing they are developing. Although more difficult, the groups focus is still keeping the game of golf fun, to ensure a lifelong passion and love for the game, helping to grow the participation of golf in Australia in the future.

The group takes full use of all facilities here including the driving range, short game area and putting green

Elite Junior Program

This is the final stage of our Junior Development Pathway. At this Point, participants have the choice to either continue with the learning booklets, and test themselves with the Level 3 or “Elite” achievements or, move into the Elite on Course.

Elite students begin scoring regularly over 9 holes starting in a modified length and modified rules setting. Pupils will learn how to keep simple stats and learn how to assess their strengths and weaknesses from them. When on-course, the course they play is lengthened as they improve their skills and perform a qualifying score. A practice routine is introduced to Elite students at this stage as it is helpful to be practising specific skills while on the driving range. Time on the range and short game areas are also included with continuous improvement a focus.
